So if the 250 line is kept open for 1 min, the 50 line is kept open for 4 mins, and the free line for probably even longer. This person opens and closes the batches totally arbitrarily, and for different periods of time, rather than fixing the number of people in a batch. When we went ahead in the line the reason for this was clear - unlike other temples where the paid line merges into the free line at an advanced point, or has a separate line right up to the darshan point, here the three lines (free/50/250) meet at one point where there is a person who stops two lines and lets one line go ahead for darshan in batches. However the line moved very slowly, and we noticed some people who entered the complex behind us get in the 50 Rs line and complete the darshan before us !! When this was pointed out to the ticket issuer he just refused to accept it as being possible and pointed to the longer lines, ignoring the fact that it is the time spent waiting which matters rather than length of the line (time in line = length of line / speed of line). Since we had two small kids with us we wanted a quick darshan so opted for the 250 Rs. For the main darshan there are 3 options : free, 50 Rs, and 250 Rs. So better to avoid visiting during this time. There is a big festival in Jan so probably this was to prepare for the same. We went to Trichy in late Dec only to see this temple, but all the gopurams were covered because of fresh painting or possibly some restoration works. This was truly an icing on the cake for our fantastic visit to this 'Out of the Word' place!!! It was nice to see importance been given to environment inside the premises. Aside for the wonderful deities the other striking feature of Sri Ranganatha Temple is the surrounding greenery that has been developed recently. It is said that this is exactly the place where he achieves Samadhi right in front of his disciples. There is also Sri Ramanjuna's Sannidhi which is very unique. Aside the main Sannidhi, the 7 prakaras of this Humungous Temple is another main attraction. We felt goosebumps each time we visit this place and this was our 4th trip in the past few couple of years. The moment you entire the Sanctum Sanctorum, you literally believe that you are seeing the Mighty Lord himself in Vaikunta and not just a majestic idol. The great lord Rangnatha is truly in his magnificent from. A must see temple for not just the Sri Vaishnavites but for all Piligrims.Folks, this is the ultimate place in our view to seek Lord Vishnu's darshan & blessings.
